Most Touching Moment
Without a doubt, the most touching moment in the entire series for me is in Deathly Hallows, when Harry uses the Resurrection Stone in the forest and sees his parents, Sirius, and Remus. I cannot tell you how hard that scene made me bawl the first time I read it, and I don't shed tears over books very often. When I saw that scene in the second DH film, I pretty much needed to mop my face. Factor in that Harry is about to face his own death—could this moment possibly be packed with any more emotion? I need to wrap up this post now, because seriously, I'm getting teary-eyed all over again.
This moment ^^ = perfect. It was the first time a book made me outright cry and I can never get through it without tearing up. The freaking amount of courage Harry had to muster up just to walk into the forest to begin with had my heart shattered. But then his family shows up (I'm including Sirius & Lupin here) and it was just too much! Such a beautiful scene :*)
ReplyDeleteI just have to think about this scene to tear up! The last time I watched DH Part 2 on TV, I flat-out cried the whole time Harry was talking to his family. This is one of the most moving passages I've ever read in a book, and it still affects me as strongly now as it did the first time I read DH.
DeleteThat's one of the best moments ever, and also the most terrible and sad one as well. So much feels! I was so proud of Harry, but also so scared for him, and just freaked out because by then we already knew the prophecy and all. I was totally shocked but I just read on like a maniac...
ReplyDeleteAnd seeing his family again was so amazing. <3
Harry's bravery throughout as he walks to his death- it's just incredible. He'd had several brushes with death before, but I had no idea how he was going to survive this and was just wrecked when he faced Voldemort.
DeleteThat so made me cry as well!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't take it- so many emotions in that scene! And whenever I read it, I know what's about to happen, and I still cry anyway, lol.
DeleteThat was a really emotional moment in the series! Connecting with the lost. I remember while reading it though that I wondered why Dumbledore wasn't there. I think the moment for me would be when he digs the grave by hand in Deathly Hallows. I cried pretty hard during that part. Excellent answer! Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.
ReplyDeletePoor Dobby- that scene breaks my heart every time, too. I figured that Deathly Hallows was going to be a very tough book to get through emotionally, but nothing could have prepared me for all of those tear-inducing moments!
DeleteAhhh that was such a touching scene! There are so many in the entire series. My favourite changes every day. I think Deathly Hallows was just a massive feels fest!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely! It's the only book that I've ever reread immediately after finishing it; I needed to process everything that had happened all over again!
