Hello there! Thank you for stopping by our blog and checking out our review policy! We are happy to accept books for review. Our reviews reflect our honest, personal opinions of the books that we read and are therefore very subjective. We point out both what we liked and didn’t like about a book. When it comes to being critical, we try to express those views in a constructive and, most importantly, respectful manner; we appreciate the massive effort that goes into writing a book and getting it published.
Genres We Read:
We primarily read young adult books. Lee also occasionally reads middle grade, new adult, and adult titles. We are especially fond of:
- Paranormal
- Fantasy
- Urban fantasy
- Historical fiction
- Dystopia
Although our reading tastes are not limited to the above, books that fall under at least one of these categories are more likely to be accepted for review.
While we do our best to only accept those books we think we’ll enjoy, once in a while a book just doesn’t work out for us. In the rare event that we’re unable to finish a book, we will inform you of this along with our reasons why we couldn’t finish the book.
Formats Accepted:
We can accept either print copies or .mobi files for Kindle.
Review Format:
All reviews contain:
- Title
- Author
- Publisher
- Cover art
- Our own summary. If a review is part of a blog tour, then the book's own synopsis will be used instead.
- Our honest review
- Rating out of 5 stars—see below for our rating system
Occasionally two of us will both read a book at the same time; our individual reviews will appear together in one post.
Where We Post Our Reviews:
All reviews are posted here on the blog and on Goodreads. Links to our reviews are also tweeted on Twitter and posted on our Facebook page. Lee’s reviews can be posted on Amazon upon request.
Time Frame:
We wish that we could spend all of our time reading, but unfortunately, that just isn’t possible. We make every effort to read and review books in a timely fashion, usually within about a month after we receive them, although this is not set in stone. If you have a specific time frame in mind, please mention it in your request, and we will do our best to accommodate it.
