Stacking the Shelves (36)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's an opportunity for everyone to share the new books that we've acquired.

Since I'm still working on some library books that I have at home (reading one now, and then one more to go), I've been trying to be good about not adding to the pile, especially since I have some review books to read, too. I did splurge a little and bought Throne of Glass as my birthday book. My cousin Ally has been hounding me to read it, and after reading the back cover, well, I'm pretty psyched to start it.

For Review:

Chase Tinker and the House of Secrets by Malia Ann Haberman
Persephone's Orchard by Molly Ringle
Blackbrooke II: The Guardian by Emma Silver
Thanks to Malia Ann Haberman, Central Avenue Publishing, and Emma Silver!

Bought:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

What did you add to your shelves this week? Please link me up!

    1. I finished Blackbrooke earlier this week, and it was just as creepy as you might expect from the widget! I'm reading Persephone's Orchard now, and I'm liking that one, too; very clever take on the Hades/Persephone myth.

And you think SHE's hounding you about Throne of Glass? You haven't seen hounding yet. It's one of my all-time favorite books ever and YOU MUST MUST READ IT.

    READ IT ASAP.

Okay, I'm done. Also: I'm sorry I missed it, but happy belated birthday!! <3

  12. Great haul!! I loved Throne of Glass and can't wait for the sequel. And I'm completely jealous of the paperback copy. I prefer paperback and the paperback copy has extra scenes. Which I most needs.
Hope you enjoy all of your books :D

    1. I noticed that it's becoming more and more common to see the paperback versions of books feature additional content. If it's a book that I really, really want to read, though, I usually get impatient and wind up buying the hardcover.

    1. I've wanted to read that book for so long, and it was a tough decision choosing between it and Shadow and Bone, but my cousin put in an extra good word for Throne of Glass, so I went for that.

  17. I liked Throne of Glass but didn't love it. I had a bit of a hard time with the main character and her lack of assassinating. I'm hoping she does more of that (and less talking about how awesome she is!) in the sequel. :-P

    Happy reading, Lee!

    1. More assassinating is always good, I say! I hope Crown of Midnight, which everyone seems to be reading at the moment, has more of it!
