This week's topic is:
Top Ten Books We'd Want on a Deserted Island
We're cheating a little bit here by assuming that we'll be stuck on the same island and can borrow each other's books. :)
- Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare: We couldn't live without our dose of Will, Jem, and the Shadowhunters. Plus, it would give us time to figure out what's really going to go down in Clockwork Princess!
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: We can definitely use Katniss's survival techniques in the games for our own benefit.
- A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin: It's the one with Jaime and Brienne!
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling: It would keep us occupied for quite a while.
- Frostbite by Richelle Mead: Ally's Vampire Academy choice because she can't get enough of Adrian! Her favorite book in the VA series.
- The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead: Lee's choice because she, too, loves Adrian!
- Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder: It's just one of our all-time favorites!
- Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta: Lee just loves this book and could never leave it behind!
- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: Ally's choice for keeping her grounded to the real world.
- A collection of the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales: It would not only take forever to read, but it would really allow you to escape your problems- being stuck on the island and all.
What books would you want on a deserted island? Please link us up!
I'm not a YA reader, but I think I might have to suck it up and read The Fault in Our Stars. It makes it's way on to everyone's lists, no matter what the topic!
ReplyDeleteI was hesitant about reading it, and it took some major arm-twisting on my cousin's part to finally get me to do so. I'm glad that she was so insistent, though, because it is a very good, albeit very sad, book. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI've been hearing such good things about The Fault in Our Stars. I'd love to read the whole Harry Potter series again but I want to wait until I've forgotten all the twists!
ReplyDeleteHere's my desert island post:

I'd love to do an HP reread from the beginning, too- maybe some time next year. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLove this list! Love John Green. Feel free to checkout my TTT
ReplyDeleteHe's the only contemporary author my cousin will willingly read. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThis is a great list! I couldn't handle The Fault in Our Stars again though. It was too painful. But you can't go without John Green forever, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI loved all your picks!
Here's my Top Ten!
I was glad that I read TFiOS, but one read was all I could handle, too. Thanks for stopping by and following!

We love him, too, and that's how he ended up being in two books on the list. :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteKatniss' survival techniques could come in handy indeed. No list is complete without Harry Potter <3 Collection of Grimm's fairytales, how did I not think of that. I LOVE those stories! & all the other books on your list are on my TBR pile. So, awesome picks!
ReplyDeleteTTT@thedailyprophecy.
I'd definitely borrow Grimm's fairy tales from Ally at some point; you can never read those enough! Thanks for stopping by!
Deletehunger games for sure.. i need to channel my inner katniss. and fairy tales are a great pick, you can keep re-reading them! Check out our TTT ~ Katie @ Inkk
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games is probably going to be pretty popular today; it's a must-have for the whole deserted-island scenario. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteDefinitely going to have to read Game of Thrones at some point- everyone loves it!
ReplyDeleteNew follower because your blog header and background are amazing!
That whole series is just incredible; I hope you have the chance to read it! Thanks for stopping by and following!
DeleteFantastic list!! Good variety so you have different genres to choose from!!
ReplyDeleteWe tried to pick from a bunch of different ones so we wouldn't get too bored too soon. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteGreat choices, I love the way you guys approached the list! If I had to chose only one Harry Potter book it would definitely be Deathly Hallows for me as well. I thought the same thing about adding Hunger Games: Katniss inspiration! I can't wait to get into the Infernal Devices series as well as A Song of Fire & Ice. Oh, and Poison Study! That's one of my next ones to buy :D Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that Poison Study is next on your to-buy list! We really, really love that book! And you definitely need to read The Infernal Devices; it's our favorite series. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI have read/love the majority of the books on your list! I'd totally bring HP and VA series with me too.
ReplyDeleteWe knew we needed to bring at least one VA book, and then we figured, why not bring a Bloodlines book, too? You can never have enough Adrian! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteAwesome choices! Many of these books are ones I could read over and over again.
ReplyDeleteSame here- if we're stuck on the island for a while, we need books that we could read from cover to cover repeatedly. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOh dear, I might have to steal your books and take them with me to the island. You've got such great picks! I hope I NEVER have to limit just 10 books to have with me for the rest of my life!
ReplyDeleteWe'd be more than happy to share our books with you! I hope that I never have to limit myself to 10 books for the rest of my life, either. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteAwesome list! Harry Potter was on my list also and looking back Hunger Games probably should have been, too.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of books that we wanted to include, but we ran out of room. Narrowing down the list to 10 was quite hard this week. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI can't believe everyone is taking Fault in Our Stars, lol. The last thing I'd want would be a story that heartbreaking. Here's Ours
ReplyDeleteThat is a good point, lol. Thanks for stopping by!
