Favorite Ship
To me, the Harry Potter series is unique in the way that it doesn't showcase romance as a major theme. Yeah, there are relationships and forms of romance within the books but I always felt that friendship is more important to the characters. My favorite ship in the HP series is one that's not really given a lot of book time but I still adore the idea of these two characters together–Dumbledore and Grindelwald. I love the whole background of their relationship and it's so interesting how things turned out for them. I'm a huge sap for any kind of romance that comes with hurdles and Dumbledore and Grindelwald definitely had some major issues. I just love the idea of these two characters, who have totally different views and opinions on things, loving each other and then ultimately fighting each other. I definitely ship those two.
I agree with you 100% the series doesn't focus on ships or romance at all and I wouldn't have it any other way. By the way, I FREAKING LOVE that you went with Dumbledore and Grindelwald! They're such an intriguing pairing - two brilliant minds, coming together through shared ideals, becoming friends and then more, only to find out that they weren't as similar as they originally thought. Their battle must've been epic and heartbreaking at the same time!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I also really enjoy that romance isn't such a huge factor in the series. I know! It must have been devastating for them to have to fight each other. I'm not sure I could have been as strong as either of them; standing by beliefs that your closest friend rejects. Their history with each other just adds to the awesomeness of their relationship though. :)
