Fandom Mashups (8)

Fandom Mashups is a feature hosted by Lunar Rainbows Reviews. There's a different scenario each week, and you choose a "dream team" of five characters from five different fandoms whom you think are best suited for the situation.

This week's topic is:
In your adventuring, you've encountered a dragon :O but you have no clue how to figure out if it's a friendly dragon or a human barbecue. Who do you take with you to investigate?

  1. Charlie Weasley (Harry Potter): Charlie works with dragons for a living, so his expertise could literally be a total lifesaver.
  2. Eragon (Inheritance Cycle): Eragon has a special bond with dragons that might come in handy here.
  3. Seraphina Dombegh (Seraphina): Not only is Seraphina also extremely knowledgeable about dragons, but she's also an all-around awesome character who would be an absolute asset to this team.
  4. Hiccup (How to Train Your Dragon): Hiccup has learned a lot from hanging out with his dragon buddy Toothless, so he should be pretty helpful in determining whether the dragon in question is friend or foe.
  5. Daenerys Targaryen (A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones): She isn't called the Mother of Dragons (one of her many, many titles, lol) for nothing. This lady is a mom to not one but THREE dragons, so if anyone can sort this out, it's Daenerys.

  1. Charley Weasley! Oh awesome pick guys!! He'd really be the best character to deal with this type of scenario. As much as I love Hagrid, I definitely wouldn't want him on my team, we'd probably all end up toasted LOL. Eragon is another brilliant pick, he'd be a natural for this kind of situation. I still need to meet Seraphina but from what I've heard, she'd be brilliant too. And of course, How to Train Your Dragon :D another one that has it right there in the title! And Daenerys is another character I need to meet but her reputation precedes her so obviously she'd be a natural. Your team is amazing^^ well done ♥

    1. I thought about Hagrid and then remembered the whole Norbert experience, lol, so it was like hmm...maybe Hagrid should sit this one out. XD

I think you'll really like Seraphina, both the book and the heroine! I LOVED how dragons were incorporated into that story, and I need to dive into the sequel soon.

  2. Charlie Weasley is an amazing pick!! And I agree with what Micheline said, Hagrid is great and all and I love him to death, but I would not want him on my team at all. He is just too blinded by his love for the dragons to ever realise if this unknown dragon is friendly or not. =D

Hiccup and Daenerys were the first ones I thought of. They are both constantly surrounded by dragons and or very close to said dragons. Hiccup's best friends is a dragon for crying out loud, they would be perfect :D.

    1. I loved the friendship that grew between Hiccup and Toothless- it was so sweet! I still have to see the sequel.

I think Charlie Weasley would be able to be very objective about whether the dragon was friendly or hostile, whereas Hagrid would just love it regardless, lol.

  3. This is such a great topic and choice in theory to make, and I love your choices. Everyone has some really good experience with dragons (I'd be the most suspicious of Hiccup, even with his sucesses, as if the dragon was blood thirsty he mightn't be able to cope too well, but I suppose that's where the marvellous Dany comes in! Love that you chose her, and love your reasoning) and that is a necessary, for sure!

    1. Daenerys's ups and downs with raising Drogon in particular would probably be very useful here. She'd be a great mother figure if the dragon wanted to join the group but she would also respect its space if it didn't.
