Harry Potter Moment of the Week (73): Best DADA Teacher

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/films/J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! A list of upcoming topics can be found here.

This week's topic is:
Best DADA Teacher

Remus. Lupin! Like his predecessors and successors, he held the position for no longer than a year, but how invaluable was the education that he imparted to his students in that span of time? Teaching Harry to conjure a Patronus was HUGE. Plus, Remus was an all-around amazing character. Love him. Miss him.

  1. I freaking love Lupin so hard! He was such a fantastic teacher, it broke my heart into tiny pieces when he left Hogwarts. I wanted him to be a part of that family for EVER. And he was oh so important to Harry...I mean he taught him how to conjure a Patronus in his THIRD year as you said...but more than that, he knew Harry's parents and well, he was incredibly wise too! I miss him so much...

    1. I love his character so much and how his connection to Harry, not to mention Sirius, ran so deep. Lupin had such a hard life, too, and just when it seemed that he'd found happiness at last, well, you know .... :(

  2. Yeah, it was incredibly sad to lose such a wonderful character, I was really hoping to have one of Harry's dad's friends pull through. Alas. He was a great teacher as well, and my favorite of all the people hired to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. Harry wouldn't have become the person he was without such a supportive teacher helping him start out.

    Here's my HP MOTW!

    1. Lupin really had a gift for teaching, and it saddened me that he wasn't able to stay on at Hogwarts. At least his students learned so much while was there!

  3. Was it the One Eyed Moody dude? Was he a DADA professor? I like him!

    1. The imposter Moody actually was a pretty good DADA professor, lol. I wonder how the real Moody would have fared in the job, and if he would have lasted longer than a year.

  4. Exactly! Learning that patronus charm played a HUGE part for Harry. I also really enjoyed the Boggart lessons, and how it turned out to be all about facing your fears. Great answer :D

    1. The boggart lesson was awesome. I still laugh at the part with Snape wearing Neville's grandmother's dress and hat! XD
