Harry Potter Moment of the Week (38): Most Anger Inducing Scene

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/films/J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! A list of upcoming topics can be found here.

This week's topic is:
Most Anger Inducing Scene

I speak for all of us at Rally the Readers when I say the most anger inducing scene is when Fred Weasley dies in Deathly Hallows. Like, wtf?! I know there is a battle going on and that death is inevitable, but why Fred?! Why?! Fred is having a good time, finally bonding with his brother, Percy, and then he's hit. The worst part is that he dies with a smile on his face. That's so Fred. Percy probably feels awful, and George must be inconsolable. I know I was inconsolable. Fred Weasley didn't have to die! He should have lived!

  1. OMG I was so pissed over this! I just stopped reading the first time around when I came to that part of the book! Not acceptable!
And to think she wanted to kill off Ron. I'd burn my book then!
    Good pick!

  2. Yup, this made me really mad when I read it the first time...and it still does to be honest. With the unexpected sweetness of Fred & Percy's moment it just came as such a shock to see it play out like that. It just gutted me, I couldn't even take it all in. And I think the worst is thinking about poor George...JKR said in an interview that everyone always asks if George is ok and she was like: ''well of course he's not.'' and I know it's true but IT HURTS dammit! :( Excellent pick^^

  3. I honestly zipped through that scene without even realized Fred died and then had to go back and reread. It's just so unfathomable. In my mind, I don't think I've fully come to accept it. How can we have Harry Potter without the Weasley twins?

  4. Fred and Dobby were both the hardest ones for me to take. I'll be honest though, after the deaths that we'd experienced before, I was expecting many more in that final battle so it was bittersweet for me. I was thinking there would be many more not left at the end that made it out alive. The ones that went in the end though were some of my favorites. Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

    1. It was Fred and Sirius for me, but Dobby's death was also very uncalled for. Lol, yeah from how the book started, Hedwig dying and such, I should've been more prepared for all the deaths.

  5. OMG YES! I couldn't cope with this at all. I just fell into a big puddle of crying mess after this happened. Why couldn't it have been anyone else?! :(

  6. Mine would be when Snape died, I still can't get over that part. At least he died a hero albeit unsung

    1. Yes, Snape dying was very sad. At least Harry knows that he was a hero.
