Stacking the Shelves (29)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's an opportunity for everyone to share the new books that we've acquired.

I was thrilled to finally pick up both Prodigy and Sanctum from the library! My cousin Melissa has really been after me about reading Shatter Me, so when I saw it for a nice price on Amazon, I grabbed it, along with The Raven Boys, which I've read but didn't own a copy of until now.

    Ooo, game of thrones! I hear awesome things about that show. I gotta watch it, it sounds great! Have you read the books?

      Yes, I've read all of the books and loved them! I'm impatiently waiting for the 3rd season of the TV series to begin!

    The Raven Boys was a pretty interesting read and I enjoyed Shatter Me. I have Prodigy and I can't wait to start it!

      I cannot wait for the new season of GoT. I don't watch a lot of TV, but that's one show that I can't miss!

    Shatter Me!! I love that book and I hope you do too, because I can see how some people don't like the writing style.

      I think I read somewhere that there are a lot of strikeouts in the text? I'm quite interested to check out the writing style.

    I have The Raven Boys and tried to read it last year, but could NOT get into it. I'm going to try again this year, because I REALLY want to love it. My favorite book of hers is definitely Lament, though; I devoured that one in one sitting.

      That's how I felt about The Scorpio Races- I wanted to loved it, but I just couldn't get into it. I hope The Raven Boys works out for you; that one just clicked with me.

      I stayed up late all last week to watch Season 2 of GoT again. That show just gets more and more amazing every time I watch it!

    I haven't read Raven Boys yet. I definitely need to! Maggie Steifvater is freaking amazing!

      Sanctum is fantastic so far; I'm definitely going to need to buy a copy of that book eventually. And Game of Thrones is such an awesome show; they've adapted the books so wonderfully for TV.

    I got Shatter Me at the great price too. Haven't started it yet though.

    I really enjoy the Game of Thrones show (lovely cover for Season 2), but never got into the books. Ssshhh don't tell anyone. I think I am the only person that doesn't like them ;) Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven

    I love Shatter Me. I read it a while back but I think I need to buy it for myself and read it again before I get Unravel Me. I also picked up Prodigy from the library, but again will probably have to re-read Legend first! Happy reading!

      I finished Prodigy yesterday, and I realized that I'd forgotten quite a few of the details from Legend, which I read about a year ago. Prodigy was really good; I hope you enjoy reading it!

    Game of Thrones Season 2! I've just ordered the set too, I don't get the series on TV so have to wait for the DVD/Blu-ray releases. Can't wait to get caught up. I've still not finished Dance with Dragons because I can't stand the thought of finishing the final book before the next one's nearly out.

      I started reading A Song of Ice and Fire at a pretty opportune time, about a year before A Dance with Dragons came out. But now I know how all of the fans who suffered through such a long wait for it feel, with no idea when Book 6 will be released.

      Thank you SO MUCH for recommending Sanctum! I started reading it last night, and it is incredible! Malachi- *sigh*

    I'm really digging the packaging for the Game of Thrones dvd series! I *really* need to get into those books >.< Same goes for Prodigy, Shatter Me & Raven Boys...sigh.       They definitely pull out all the stops for the GoT DVD/Blu-Ray releases. I really think you'll enjoy the books, especially since you love Brandon Sanderson's novels (which I so need to check out!).
