Stacking the Shelves (12)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's an opportunity for everyone to share the books which we've added to our shelves.

Ally's back in school, so it's only my small stack this week. I was really good on my last library trip, only borrowing two books so that I can start reading all of the books that I bought ages ago but never read. I'm not supposed to be buying any books, but I love reading about the Wars of the Roses, and when I spotted Philippa Gregory's The Kingmaker's Daughter at a really nice price, I couldn't pass it up.

Borrowed:
Looking for Alaska by John Green
Paper Towns by John Green

For Review:
Night of the Purple Moon by Scott Cramer
(Thanks to Scott Cramer!)

Won:
Pure by Julianna Baggott
(Thanks to Goodreads and Hachette Book Group!)

Bought:
The Kingmaker's Daughter by Philippa Gregory

What did you add to your shelves this week?

    1. Thanks! :) I've wanted to read Pure for a while, but it was always checked out at the library, along with John Green's books. This was the first time I'd seen any on the shelf all summer.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I have read The Fault In Our stars by John Green but I haven't read his other books and I heard really good things about Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska ! I hope you'll enjoy reading them :).
Oh I'm a huge fan of historical books and I heard good things about Philippa Gregory books. You got her new book right?
Can you recommend me some of her books? :)
    Happy reading !

    1. Yes, The Kingmaker's Daughter is Philippa Gregory's new book. I recently read her first YA book, Changeling, and wasn't too crazy about it; I thought that the paranormal elements needed more work. I haven't read any of her adult novels yet. My copy of The Other Boleyn Girl is still sitting unread on my shelf. I plan on tackling the stack of unread books that I already own next, so I hope to get to it soon.

Looking For Alaska is wonderful, prepare to want to highlight every page or mark every quote. It's beautifully written.

  11. I'm curious to read that PGregory book, I think that time period skipped YA altogether as they marry once they hit puberty... super interesting!

    Happy Sunday!

    1. That was the case for Anne Neville, who the book is about. I believe she was 16 when she got married for the second time, to the future Richard III of England. I am such a nerd when it comes to this historical time period, lol.

  13. I can't wait to read them. I've finally whittled my library pile down, and once I read the last few books that are left, I'm going to start reading the books on my own shelves that I bought but never read.

    Thanks for stopping by!
