HOW is it possible that we're just about in the final quarter of the year? HOW??!! GAHHH! And I've already seen Christmas stuff in a few stores around here. Too soon, people. Too. Soon.
August was both a really good reading and reviewing month. For the moment, I actually have reviews scheduled for the next few weeks, which is something I rarely get to say, lol. As much as I love getting ahead on scheduling posts, it often doesn't work out that way.
Once again, my pick for favorite quote of the month comes from my favorite book of the month:
Gail Carriger's Imprudence was an absolute delight to read, rife with laugh-out-loud humor. To give you an idea of the hilarity, here's one of my favorite quotes from the book:
Mother put down her pins. "Your daughter would like to know if you are still going insane, dear."
Paw considered this. "I've been married to your mother for over two decades. You might allow me certain dispensation for eccentricity."
Happy September reading, everyone!

I can't believe we're on the last day of August. It's just gone by in a flash, hasn't it? It's funny how, when you're in the moment, everything lasts forever and yet when you look back, everything's gone by in the blink of an eye.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read much this August...(don't shoot, avid readers! *cowers behind pillow*) Just the first book in A Song of Ice and Fire, re-read The Red Necklace and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Ugh, I need to up my reading game.
Reading any of the ASoIaF books is equal to reading at least 3 regular books, LOL! And this whole year is just flying by- it's crazy!
DeleteWHERE is the time going?! Weren't we JUST talking about how it was already March...or June..?! Well in unpopular opinion news, I'm happy that Summer is winding down this year (don't shoot me!) because it was an unbelievably humid one around here and I can't deal with humidity...but living where you do, I'm sure you know all about that AND handle it like a pro! I adore Fall and Halloween though but YES it's TOO SOON for Christmas stuff *glares*
ReplyDeleteGood on you for having posts scheduled and for getting some quality reading done :D I was majorly ahead but then my HP reread happened so I'm struggling to catch up again LOL! Happy September by friend! xx
Aww, I'm sure you'll get all caught up! And I loved reading your Goodreads updates throughout your HP reread; they gave me so many feels! I think that no matter where I am with my reading challenge next year, I'm just going to go for it and reread HP, too! :D
DeleteYou're not the only one who's happy to say goodbye to summer, lol. It was ridiculously hot here, even for a Florida summer. We don't really get a fall, but it would be such a welcome change just this once. Happy September to you, too! ♥
