January 2013 Recap

One month of 2013 is already over! We both made a resolution at the start of the year to try and keep from going overboard with our library hauls, and so far, we've been doing quite well sticking to it. Here's what went on around the blog in January:

Ally Read:

  • Persistence of Vision by Liesel K. Hill

Lee Read:

  • The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
  • Persephone by Kaitlin Bevis
  • Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
  • Burn for Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
  • Within by Clare C. Marshall
  • Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
  • The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
  • The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda
  • Persistence of Vision by Liesel K. Hill

    1. I'm usually horrible about keeping resolutions and don't even bother making them, but I'm trying to break that trend. If I need to stop by the library to return books but know I shouldn't borrow more at the moment, I just leave my card at home so I won't be tempted. That strategy has been working well so far.

  2. LOVELOVE the Iron Fey Series! (anything by Julie, really) I also really liked Persephone, the best retelling of that story that I've read so far.

    1. One of my reading goals for this year is to not hop around from series to series like I did last year, and the Iron Fey series was one that I wanted to finish. I do like her Blood of Eden series better, though. Persephone was awesome; I just started reading the sequel.

    1. If a book really grabs my attention, I'll zip through it. I really enjoyed quite a few of the books I read last month, so that's probably why I was able to squeeze in a few extra reads. Normally I'm not that fast of a reader.
