Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Slay a Lion to Get Early

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's topic is:
Books I’d Slay a Lion to Get Early

1. The Winds of Winter by George R.R. Martin

With GRRM announcing that there will be no new A Song of Ice and Fire novel this year, I'm starting to think more and more that we'll never know the fates of the book characters. :/

2. Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

At least I'll have one highly, highly anticipated fantasy to read in 2018! STILL not over the ending of Empire of Storms.

3. Vengeful by V.E. Schwab

Super, super thrilled for this sequel to the absolutely fantastic Vicious.

4. City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab

TWO new Schwab novels this year? YASSSSSSSSS.

5. The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken

Not only is the film adaptation of The Darkest Minds hitting theaters this summer, but we also have a NEW novel!

6. Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

I put this on my list, even though I still need to read the second book, Lord of Shadows, lol.

7. The Dreamer Trilogy #1 by Maggie Stiefvater

This doesn't even have a title or release date yet, but all I needed to know was that it features Ronan Lynch from Stiefvater's Raven Cycle series as the MC.

What books would you love to be able to read early?

  1. Oh my gosh right? The Winds of Winter! I should have used that one!! And I know right? I do grow more and more skeptical he will finish...

    1. What bothers me is how GRRM seems...unconcerned about it? As much as I enjoy watching the show, I read the books first, and I NEED to know how they end!

  2. I think a lot of people are frustrated with GRRM right now. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

    1. I bet they are, lol. And there's not even a new season of the TV series this year. :(

  5. Some of these made my list, too. I would love if The Winds of Winter came out. I have zero faith in the author, though.

    1. My fear that it'll never be released starts to feel more and more real each year that there's no good news about it. :/

  6. The Winds Of Winter is on my list too! I'm very excited about the idea that it might...one day...happen?

    1. Exactly, lol. Sometimes I think GRRM has forgotten that he's left his book readers hanging for almost 7 years now!

  7. I need to get on the VE Schwab train, I have a few of her books but when I plan to read them, something happens and I end up forgetting about it.

GRRM, I read an article that it's been pushed back again? Did they finally manage to nail him down?

Reading the latest ACoFaS atm, I missed the last ToG book, I have to get on it before that final one.

    1. You definitely need to read some Schwab books! They're soooo goooood.

GRRM has a new book coming out this year that is NOT The Winds of Winter. No word on when/if he's going to finish that one. :/

I got ACoFaS but won't get to it for a while. I also haven't read the last ToG book; it's been sitting on my shelf for a year, lol.
