Which Books Would You Recommend to Hagrid?
Yay—it's the first HPMotW of 2017! I'm even happier because I actually wrote a post this week! :D
Since Hagrid loves creatures of all kinds, even ill-tempered ones, lol, I tried to come up with books that feature them prominently:
- Seraphina by Rachel Hartman: There's a good chance Hagrid would enjoy reading this because it has dragons in it!
- Sabriel by Garth Nix: Hagrid should get a good chuckle or two thanks to the snark of Mogget the talking cat.
- Study by Maria V. Snyder: No hippogriffs in this series, but there are some very cool horses!
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas: Just tell Hagrid there are wyverns in this series, and he's sure to want to read it!
- This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab: There are legit monsters in this book, like, the super scary kind, and I'd love to know whether Hagrid would also find them terrifying or just seriously misunderstood. XD
Wyverns? Love wyverns. And dragons (of course). Study I may have to look into... like I mentioned over on Micheline's post, I want to read more about creatures this year, and I assumed that meant urban fantasy, but maybe I need to read more YA fantasy too...
ReplyDeleteThe wyverns in ToG are awesome! Just a head's up- I don't think they started appearing until the 3rd book. The 1st 2 books are still AMAZING without them, though, LOL!
DeleteI totally forgot about the wyverns in ToG! I bet he would like them :) I also picked the Chronicles of Narnia because humanoids and animals are equals and I think Hagrid would like that. Hope you're having an excellent weekend!

DeleteD'oh! I almost put in ToG but then I changed it last minute (what was I thinking?!) but now that you mention Wyverns I feel like doing a *face-palm* LOL! I know that you know, but I have to say it: I LOVE that you went with Sabriel for Mogget - I can see Hagrid being really entertained by his sass and antics! No lie, I WILL read Seraphina, Study and especially This Savage Song very soon ♥
ReplyDeleteAt first I couldn't think of how to work ToG into this week's topic, but then I remembered the wyverns! XD Mogget was a MUST for this list; I love that sassy cat!
