Harry Potter Moment of the Week (98)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts and Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/films/J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! A list of upcoming topics can be found here.

This week's topic is:
Place You Wish We'd Explored in the Series But Didn't?

I would have loved to explore some of the other wizarding schools such as Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. It was fascinating to see the similarities and differences between students from the various schools during Goblet of Fire. Hogwarts was so well developed that it was kind of like another character, and it makes me curious about the other schools' architecture and the histories behind their foundings. I think it would make such an awesome spin-off!

  1. I mentioned Durmstrang and Beauxbatons in my post too - you are SO right: Hogwarts IS like it's own character so it would be wicked to see how other Wizarding schools measure up in comparison! And there would be so much to tell: history on the founders, history on some of the more famous students and teachers, the layout of the schools, the grounds, the magical beasts that call the grounds home, etc, etc, etc...

  2. I've forgotten the details... is this the french school and that other place? Yeah, I'd love to visit the other schools too, GoF did make me wonder what it was like for wizards outside of Hogwarts... fantastic spin-off series don't you think? We should start a petition!!

    1. Exactly! I want to see what the similarities and differences are, and how they affect the students who go there. ;)

  4. Absolutely! I bet Beauxbatons is beautiful and Durmstrang is all hard edges and height in my imagination. It would've been great to get an inside look into the schools and understand more about how they work and what subjects they teach. Great pick :D
