Harry Potter Moment of the Week (93)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts and Lunar Rainbows. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/films/J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! A list of upcoming topics can be found here.

This week's topic is:
Which books would you recommend to Draco?

I had a bit of a hard time with this week's topic, especially knowing how particular Draco is about . . . everything, lol. After much consideration, here's what I came up with:

  1. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie: Because I feel that Draco could really benefit from reading this, lol.
  2. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens: So Draco, who's had an extremely privileged upbringing, gets a glimpse of how difficult life can be for the much less fortunate.
  3. Macbeth by William Shakespeare: A cautionary tale about excessive ambition that I would hope teaches Draco a valuable lesson.
  4. Persuasion by Jane Austen: This is my all-time favorite novel, therefore I think Draco should read it. XD

  1. LOL this was a tough one wasn't it?! I struggled too but you did much better than I did^^ #1 is pure gold XD #2 is a brilliant idea, it'd do Draco some good! #3 as well, hopefully it'd help him come to his senses! And well done recommending him your favorite book :D I think it'd be fun to chat with him about all of these after the fact haha!

    1. This was a pretty tough topic; I think any other HP character would have been so much easier to come up with books for, lol. I can't wait to see your recs- heading there now! :D

  3. Draco should probably read Oliver Twist, but I'm pretty sure he'd roll his eyes at it at first. lol. How to books are something that Draco would/should read. The one you've picked sound perfect for him!

    1. Draco would most likely roll his eyes at all of my recs for him, lol. With any luck, he'd find one of them acceptable and maybe learn something from it.

  4. Yet another proof of why I love you. You're so clever! I was at Micheline's earlier and got stumped! I got nothing for Draco...

    1. Aww, I love you, too, sis! I loved Micheline's answer for this, especially because she had a lovely, lovely pic of Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, lol!

  5. This is a perfect list!! I kind of almost feel a bit sad for Draco because, you're definitely right, he would greatly benefit from reading "How to make friends".

I really like the thought of Draco reading Persuasion and becoming a huge fan of Ms. Austen. Reading her books, collecting all editions of her books and quoting them willy nilly =D

    1. How awesome would it be if Draco became like the biggest Jane Austen fan ever? XD I think JKR would approve!

  6. These are such great choices! I think the first one is my all-time fav suggestion for him to read. They would all hopefully help him become a better person.

    1. I would hope so, too! I always kind of wondered what sort of person he grew into after Hogwarts; JKR definitely needs to write some more material to fill in those types of gaps, lol.
