Book Loot (3)

Yep, this is the third installment of Book Loot already, which is just a little odd for someone who claimed to be going on a book buying ban. Lemme explain. I got an Amazon gift card last month and bought a few books with it, won a Goodreads giveaway, and won one of the raffle prizes at UtopYA, so technically, I didn't break my buying ban. ;)

Several prizes were raffled off at UtopYA every morning, and I was lucky enough to win this prize pack from author Misty Provencher! It included a signed copy of her novel, The Fly House, a T-shirt, a bracelet, a dragon ear cuff, and some other goodies.

The sole souvenir I bought for myself from the trip to Nashville was this Jane Austen jigsaw puzzle. I had to have it when I saw it because I love Jane Austen and I love jigsaw puzzles. As you can see, the box is packaged like a book and opens up like one, too:

I know the actual puzzle image is sideways, but the box wouldn't stay open when I tried to photograph it with the puzzle image in the correct orientation. Those blue sections you see contain quotes from her books, which I think is pretty neat.

Won:

Charm and Strange by Stephanie Kuehn
Thanks to Goodreads and St. Martin's Griffin!

Bought:

Brutal Youth by Anthony Breznican

eBooks Bought:

Stone of Destiny by Laura Howard

  1. YAY, more book loot :D I actually won a Goodreads giveaway a few weeks ago too! After years of entering the giveaways, it was a pleasant and welcome surprise! That Fly House gift pack is really neat too and dragon ear cuff?!? OMG awesome! The Jane Austen jigsaw puzzle box is absolutely gorgeous, I would keep it as a keepsake for ever ♥ I'm also really curious about Charm and Strange! I hope you enjoy all these fantastic goodies Lee ^^

    1. Goodreads wins are lovely surprises, aren't they? I remember the first time I won one of their giveaways; it was like winning the lottery, lol. I actually found the Jane Austen puzzle at the Belle Meade Plantation gift shop. They had a little book section, as well as a sign saying that they have their own Jane Austen book club, which is really neat. I HAD to get the puzzle, and so it went home with me. :D

  2. I've never won a Goodreads giveaway - one day I would like to know what that is like! I don't enter them like I used to though, so it might take awhile for that to happen. :)

The Jane Austen puzzle is awesome! The packaging is genius! I hope they will do more bookish puzzles though, I would love to get a Jane Eyre one! Have you tried putting it together yet?

    1. Not yet, but I'm dying to! More bookish puzzles would be awesome; I think they would go over well with readers. I know I would buy a ton of them, lol. And keep trying with the Goodreads giveaways; it took forever for me to win my first one, but it did finally happen!
