Harry Potter Moment of the Week (168)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme created by Uncorked Thoughts and hosted by Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/films/J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! A list of upcoming topics can be found here.

This week's topic is:
What is Your Favorite Harry Potter Book Cover? Pick One Cover from ANY Edition.

I'm really partial to the American hardcover editions because those are the ones I own, lol, but I also love the newer paperback editions. I think, however, sentimentality is going to win out here, so I'm going with:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

OK, so worst ending EVER, but Order of the Phoenix was the first time I got to experience the joy/pain of waiting for a new HP book to be released. I still remember waiting for the Amazon package to turn up, and tearing into it when I did so I could immediately start reading and tune out the rest of the world. This cover shows a more grown-up looking Harry compared to the previous covers, and to me the cover has always had a foreboding feel to it, which is 100% accurate. XD

  1. OMG I did the wrong topic! I skipped this one and did next week's LMFAO!

    Sigh. Moving on...

I remember when I was buying my first copies of the HP books I immediately thought myself too grown up and sought out the Adult UK covers, which I still love but as the years have passed, I've grown to love these covers^^ even more ♥ I NEED to start buying myself the hardcover versions for my collection...you know, once I have the cash and not another million books to buy >.<

    1. I thought I did the wrong topic this week, LOLOL! Ah, well, shit happens! XD

The adult UK covers are so awesome! I never even knew they existed until you featured them in a post. I was only familiar with the American hardcover editions until I started blogging and then got to see all of the fantastic international covers that are out there. I covet the US paperback set that came out a few years ago, but I still can't bring myself to justify owning another set of HP books. XD
