Harry Potter Moment of the Week (150)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts and Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/films/J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! A list of upcoming topics can be found here.

This week's topic is:
If You Could Change One Thing from the Fourth Film, What Would It Be?

Hands down, I'd want to see a totally different take of Michael Gambon's Dumbledore asking Harry if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire. Seriously, WTF was up with Dumbledore yelling at Harry in the film?!!! The memes that came out of that scene do make me laugh, but every time I watch GoF, I cringe during that moment. Talk about awkward and out of character. :/

  1. I SOOOOO get you on this^^ Honestly, I cringe through Gambon's entire performance in this film specifically. He's too agitated, spitting and screaming all through the school year. He's much calmer in PoA and subsequent films but this one is the worst for me D: The memes make me laugh too though because it confirms that WE ARE NOT ALONE in this LOL!

    1. I still scratch my head over that scene, and yeah, Dumbledore just seems *mean* in GoF, lolol. Ah, we can only wonder how Richard Harris's Dumbledore would have questioned Harry. :/

  2. Yes. Yes. Yes. and some more Yes. I know that I'm hard on book to movies, but I think this is the only one where I felt someone was so completely out of character like that.

    1. I think Gambon got better as the films went on, but boy does that scene stick out like a sore thumb. It still surprises me that it made the final cut!
