2020 Beat the Backlist Reading Challenge

Another year—and another decade—is almost in the books, so to speak, which means it's time to start thinking about reading goals for 2020! My never-ending TBR is loaded with backlist titles, which is why I'm joining Novel Knight's Beat the Backlist challenge again.

It's a bit sad to admit this, but several of the books I'd hoped to read for this year's challenge are making return appearances on my list of planned reads for next year's challenge because I'm just not going to get to them in 2019. Oh well, lol. So here's what I'd really love to read in 2020:

I'm also joining the team mini challenge. I am ALWAYS adding books to my TBR even though it's already impossibly long, so it's The TBR Stackers team for me, lol!

Are you joining any reading challenges for 2020?

2019 Beat the Backlist Reading Challenge

It's been a while since I attempted a reading challenge besides the yearly Goodreads one, but after thinking about how many books are piling up on my shelves and Kindle, I'm giving Novel Knight's Beat the Backlist challenge a go!

There are so many books that I wanted to read in 2018 but didn't get to, so this challenge is the perfect motivation for me to get those titles read in 2019! Here are some of the books that I'm planning to read for the challenge:

I'm also taking part in the Hogwarts mini challenge and will be trying to earn points for Ravenclaw!

If you've read any of these books, what did you think? Are you doing any reading challenges for 2019?

COYER Summer 2017 Signup

COYER has always sounded like a lot of fun, and I'm finally signing up! I'm doing the regular COYER, which just involves reading and reviewing as many books as you can between June 17 and September 8.

There's also the Summer Reading List, where you choose 30 books you'd like to read for the challenge (you don't have to read all 30).

All of the COYER details can be found here. Good luck to everyone who's participating! :D

2014 Australian Women Writers Challenge

I participated in this challenge this year, and I'm happy to report that I completed my goal yesterday! Nothing like getting things done at the last minute, lol. I had a lot of fun with this challenge, and so I'm signing up for the 2014 Australian Women Writers Challenge as well. I'm keeping my goal the same for 2014, which will be:

Miles: read 6 – if reviewing, review at least 4

If you'd like to join, too, just click the button or the link above!

2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge

I wasn't sure if I was going to sign up for any 2014 reading challenges because my reading time is still rather limited these days, but I thought the 2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge, hosted by Bookish, would be perfect for motivating me to tackle the books I've had sitting around on my shelves and Kindle for who knows how long. I'm pretty sure my overall reading goal for 2014 is going to be quite a bit less ambitious than last year's, so I'll set my goal for this challenge at:

11-20 - A Friendly Hug

2013 Australian Women Writers Challenge

So I thought that I was finished with signing up for reading challenges for this year, but when I spotted the 2013 Australian Women Writers Challenge on the lovely Vegan YA Nerds' blog, I couldn't resist signing up for this one as well. There are four unread Melina Marchetta books sitting on my shelf alone, so this challenge is perfect for ensuring that I get them read. I'd also like to check out more books by Margo Lanagan, and I'm looking forward to the publication of Paula Weston's Shadows in the U. S. this year.

My challenge goal is:
Miles: read 6 – if reviewing, review at least 4

If you'd like to participate, just click on the button or the link above!

2013 Sequel Challenge

Looking back on the books I read in 2012, I realized that I did quite a bit of series hopping. I started several series and then never bothered with the remaining books. I would like to do a better job of following through with sequels in 2013 and thought that signing up for the 2013 Sequel Challenge, hosted by Auntie Spinelli Reads, would be a great way to motivate myself to read all of those sequels that I never got to last year. If you're interested in signing up, just click on the button or the link above. I'm also participating in the 2013 Paranormal Reading Challenge and am really excited about that one as well.

2013 Paranormal Reading Challenge

The 2013 Paranormal Reading Challenge is hosted by Megan Likes Books and Auntie Spinelli Reads. I've never participated in a reading challenge before, and since I love paranormal books, I thought that this one would be perfect! For all of the details and to sign up, just click on the button above!

The goal is to read at least one book featuring each of the following paranormal creatures:

  • Vampires
  • Werewolves/Shifters
  • Fey
  • Angels/Nephilim
  • Mermaids
  • Dragons
  • Zombies
  • Demons
  • Witches/Wizards
  • Ghosts
  • Aliens
  • Other (ie: sirens, unicorns, centaurs, timetravel etc.)

This is going to be a lot of fun! I'm especially excited about checking out books with paranormal creatures that I haven't had the chance to read about yet.
